Usage Mepiquat chloride is a cotton growth regulator, working through leaf absorption. It inhibits not only cotton height, affecting the number of branch on the top, but also horizontal growth of cotton branches, 3-6 days after application, cotton leaves become dark and thick. Owing to coordination of nutritive growth and reproductive growth, both vertical and horizontal growth slow down, cotton size being small, so that drop of cotton bloom and boll is reduced; blooming and boll forming are concentrated; yield of ginned cotton is increased and quality is improved
